Reconciliation jobs at payments processors often run nightly against a single database instance. One failed run leaves downstream reporting silently stale, and nobody finds out until a customer does.

The concept redesigns reconciliation as an idempotent, event-sourced process distributed across independently-recoverable workers, with every discrepancy surfaced immediately rather than discovered downstream.
